1. Fort Pickens, Pensacola Beach
Nestled on Pensacola Beach, Fort Pickens offers the best views without the buildings and the people. My favorite spot here is Langdon Beach, which features a unique mini mountain that overlooks the ocean. For a touch of history, you can explore the old army fort, get lost on lots of trails, see plenty of wildlife, we always love watching the bald eagles, and you can enjoy the fishing docks along the bay.
If you’re lucky, you might even catch a breathtaking flyover by the Blue Angels! If you want photos that embrace the beauty of the coast, this location is perfect for photos. Fort Pickens
2. Gulf Islands National Seashore, Pensacola Beach
One of my favorite parts about Pensacola Beach, is the miles of untouched coastline. Just a short, peaceful drive from Pensacola Beach, the Gulf Islands National Seashore boasts seven miles of untouched coastline.
The National Seashore has plenty of pull-offs, you can find secluded spots away from the crowds, making it a perfect backdrop your photography session capturing the beauty of the water and the dunes. Gulf island national seashore
3. Soundside Nature Preserve, Gulf Breeze
If you want to beauty of the coast but also like oak trees, like me, I have to perfect location. You will get the best of both world at the hidden gem. Located just over the bridge in Gulf Breeze, the Soundside Nature Preserve is perfect for those seeking a more woodsy beach experience.
A short trail lined with magnificent oak trees leads to access points on the bay, allowing for beautiful golden hour beach photos with lush greenery in the background.
Bonus Location: Downtown Pensacola
For a blend of coastal charm and historic beauty, Downtown Pensacola is a must-visit. The area is filled with picturesque buildings, museums, and parks, all providing a stunning backdrop for your photos. You can enjoy the waterfront views while also soaking in the rich history of the city.
Some of my favorite places to see in downtown pensacola include Bruce beach park, Barkley House, and the Palafox Pier. All of these locations are fairly close together and would make an amazing back drop for family photos.
